Compensation for Alabama National Guard Service Member Killed While on State Active Duty
Alabama law provides $100,000 to qualifying dependents of an Alabama National Guard member whose death results from qualifying state active duty, including a proximately related death within three years of injury. Federal active duty is excluded, and statutory misconduct and safety exclusions apply. Dependents must have resided in the United States at the member’s death. A claim must be presented within one year of death—not three years. Contact the awarding authority about the required form and dependency evidence.
An agency must make the actual eligibility decision.
The program is source-verified, but its eligibility rules are not automated in this record.
