Privacy, limitations, and disclaimer

This application is local-first. It performs calculations on your device and stores saved scenarios and nested Claim Files only in local storage on that device.

01

No account or server profile

You do not sign in. The app has no application database for your scenario or Claim File data and sends no such record to an app-owned server.

02

No unnecessary personal information

Do not enter Social Security numbers, VA claim numbers, military service numbers, dates of birth, addresses, medical documents, or other sensitive identifiers in scenario names, Claim Files, or notes. The Claim Evidence Planner has no document-upload field.

03

You control local records

Export all saved scenarios as JSON, import a validated export, or delete all local data. Nested Claim Files are included in those actions, together with the optional Benefits Explorer profile and benefit tracker. Clearing website data or uninstalling the native app may also remove saved records, so keep a JSON backup.

04

Installable, with an online boundary

The website prepares its planner and reviewed reference pages for offline use, and the iOS/Android package includes them locally. Updates and official source links still require a connection; do not rely on an offline copy for time-sensitive rate verification.

Optional support

PayPal is a separate service

The optional donation link opens PayPal in a new tab. No payment details are collected by this application, and donating does not affect any planner calculation, evidence summary, VA benefit, or claim outcome. Review PayPal’s privacy terms before continuing.

Optional feedback exception

Feedback is emailed only when you submit it

The rest of the application remains local-first. The optional Feedback & Suggestions form is an intentional exception: when you press Submit, the information entered in that form is transmitted through the configured transactional email provider and delivered to the application founder’s Gmail inbox.

  • Submitting feedback is optional.
  • You may submit without entering your name or email address.
  • If you permit follow-up, the address you enter is used only as the message’s Reply-To address. It is not subscribed to a list.
  • Feedback is not added to local scenarios, browser storage, an application database, analytics, or error-monitoring breadcrumbs.
  • The application does not create a feedback database or send an automatic confirmation email.
  • The email provider and Gmail may retain message and delivery information under their policies and the founder’s inbox practices.

Do not include Social Security numbers, VA claim numbers, medical-record text, decision letters, addresses, passwords, or other sensitive identifying information. The application cannot promise immediate deletion after an email has been delivered to external email services.

Aggregate product analytics

Privacy-first analytics do not receive your planning data

When enabled, the application uses Plausible Analytics to measure anonymous, aggregate traffic and product usage. The configured implementation uses no cookies or persistent advertising identifiers, is not used for advertising, and does not change the local-first storage model.

  • Page addresses are reduced to reviewed canonical paths. Application query strings, hash fragments, condition identifiers, plan identifiers, state selections, search terms, submission references, tokens, and email addresses are not sent. Only enum-reviewed public campaign tags may be retained for aggregate campaign reporting.
  • Disability conditions, diagnostic codes, ratings, compensation, SMC, TDIU, P&T, claims, evidence, dependents, notes, benefit matches, and feedback contents are not sent.
  • The provider may derive approximate country, region, or city from the network request. The application never requests browser geolocation, GPS, a street address, a ZIP code, or precise coordinates.
  • Automatic form measurement, session replay, input capture, DOM snapshots, advertising pixels, and behavioral profiles are not enabled.
  • Browser Do Not Track is honored. You may also block the analytics script without losing calculator, planner, benefits, or offline functionality.

Review Plausible’s official website analytics data policy.

Feedback security

Abuse protection without invasive tracking

The feedback endpoint validates the exact application origin, limits request size, uses an inaccessible honeypot and completion-time check, verifies Cloudflare Turnstile on the server, and applies shared rate limits using a one-way keyed identifier. Raw IP addresses, feedback text, names, contact addresses, and Turnstile tokens are not written to application logs.

Turnstile and the transactional email provider may process the information necessary to provide their respective security and delivery services under their own terms.

Educational-use disclaimer

Important limits

This estimate is for educational planning only. It is based on the ratings and benefit selections you entered and is not an official VA decision. Actual ratings, SMC entitlement, dependent eligibility, effective dates, and payment amounts are determined by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

  • This application is not affiliated with, approved by, or endorsed by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • It does not provide legal or medical advice and does not diagnose any condition.
  • Rating criteria alone do not establish service connection. Evidence, examinations, applicable regulations, and VA findings affect actual decisions.
  • Overlapping symptoms and manifestations may trigger anti-pyramiding rules. The calculator cannot decide whether entered ratings may be legally combined.
  • SMC and TDIU eligibility are not determined by this calculator. Any such selection is user-provided.
  • Benefits Explorer results are deterministic screening guidance, not agency eligibility decisions. The app never infers permanent-and-total status from a 100% rating, TDIU, or a temporary total rating.
  • The MVP does not calculate retroactive benefits, effective dates, offsets, severance recoupment, drill-pay offsets, concurrent retirement rules, apportionment, attorney fees, or back pay.
  • Confirm payment amounts against the current official VA rate tables.
