Security and Data Protection

VetComp Planner minimizes the information it handles. Planning data is designed to stay in browser storage on this device, while public pages and carefully limited forms use separate controls.

Local planning data

Rating scenarios, Claim Files, benefit-tracker entries, form checklist status, and saved opportunities are stored locally. The site does not ask users to upload medical records, decision letters, DD214s, or claim documents.

Network and browser protections

Production pages use HTTPS, restrictive security headers, validated internal return paths, and allowlisted external destinations where the application accepts a URL. Unknown query values are removed before public pages render.

Analytics boundary

Analytics uses normalized route categories. It excludes scenario identifiers, Claim File identifiers, ratings, compensation amounts, conditions tied to a user, P&T or TDIU status, evidence choices, selected jurisdictions, searches, and saved-item status.

Feedback and testimonial forms

Public forms validate origin, size, fields, and abuse-protection tokens. Do not include health records, claim numbers, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive claim information.

Using external destinations safely

Official government and private-company links are labeled differently. Before entering personal information, confirm the destination and review that organization’s privacy and security practices.
