Georgia National Guard Service Cancelable Loan
Active Georgia National Guard members in good standing may qualify for a tuition loan at an eligible institution while enrolled at least half time in an eligible certificate, diploma, undergraduate, graduate, or first-professional program. The award depends on institution and enrollment and is reduced by other aid required to pay tuition; funding and general student-aid requirements apply. The program has a 120-semester-hour or 180-quarter-hour paid-hours limit for awards beginning with the 2016-2017 year. To cancel repayment through service, recipients must maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA and qualifying Guard service during funded terms and for two years after the last funded term, with timely service verification. Failure to satisfy the loan agreement can require cash repayment with interest. Review the current regulations and promissory note before accepting a loan.
An agency must make the actual eligibility decision.
The program is source-verified, but its eligibility rules are not automated in this record.
