Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) Military Service Pass
CTA’s Military Service Pass provides free bus and train travel to eligible Chicago-area active-duty personnel, actively drilling Guard/Reserve members and qualifying disabled Veterans. Veterans need proof of VA compensation at 10% or more, or military disability retirement instead of VA compensation at that level, plus state ID. Active-duty personnel in full uniform with military ID can ride free without the pass; those out of uniform need the pass. Retirement alone does not qualify. Apply by mailing the current Military Pass application to Ventra.
An agency must make the actual eligibility decision.
The program is source-verified, but its eligibility rules are not automated in this record.
