University of Illinois Children of Veterans Tuition Waiver
The University of Illinois Children of Veterans Tuition Waiver offers four consecutive years of in-state tuition to selected natural, step or adopted children of Veterans of specified conflicts. Up to three waivers per Illinois county are awarded annually; applicants must permanently reside in the county through which they apply and document the parent’s qualifying service. The waiver can be used for eligible undergraduate, graduate or professional study at University of Illinois campuses, but does not waive out-of-state tuition. For 2026–27, the priority deadline was January 5, 2026; the deadline for conflicts not yet awarded is October 1, 2026.
