Louisiana Educational Benefits for Children, Spouses and Surviving Spouses of Veterans

Louisiana Title 29 waives tuition and qualifying school-imposed fees at state public postsecondary institutions for eligible children and spouses of qualifying Veterans. Living-Veteran child eligibility includes a 90–100% service-connected rating or 100% individual unemployability; living-Veteran spouses generally do not qualify except the POW/MIA route. Children must be ages 16–25. Survivor routes, Veteran residency, full-time study, academic standards, four-year/five-year limits and the surviving-spouse ten-year/remarriage rules require LDVA certification.
