CNMI Taxes on Military Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP), Reserve Component Survivor Benefit Plan (RCSBP), and Retired Serviceman’s Family Protection Plan (RSFPP) Annuities
Military survivor annuities generally have taxable income under CNMI’s federal-mirror income-tax system. SBP and Reserve Component SBP should not be confused with tax-exempt VA DIC. RSFPP annuities are also generally taxable, but recovery of certain previously taxed premiums and other applicable exclusions can affect the taxable amount. Use the annuitant tax statement and current CNMI filing guidance rather than assuming every dollar is taxable or every military survivor payment is exempt.
An agency must make the actual eligibility decision.
The program is source-verified, but its eligibility rules are not automated in this record.
