New Hampshire Veteran Reemployment in Local Public Employment

A Veteran returning from military service to employment with a New Hampshire county, town, city, precinct, school board or other political subdivision must notify its treasurer or fiscal agent in writing within 90 days after inactive status or qualifying discharge to request reinstatement. This is a deadline to request return, not a promise to rehire within 90 days. Current RSA 97:1 uses the Veteran definition in RSA 21:50; confirm the applicable return-to-work procedure with the public employer.
