Pennsylvania National Guard Military Family Education Program (MFEP)
MFEP lets a qualifying Pennsylvania National Guard member assign education assistance to a DEERS-enrolled spouse or child after accepting the required additional six-year service commitment. The current program does not require a six-year reenlistment contract. Up to five academic years, commonly 120 credits, may be shared among dependents; tuition assistance has statutory limits and depends on funding. Spouses generally must enroll within six years after the member’s separation, and children before age 26, with specified exceptions. Nonresident Pennsylvania Guard members can qualify. Apply through Guard Education Services using its current procedures.
An agency must make the actual eligibility decision.
The program is source-verified, but its eligibility rules are not automated in this record.
