Territory of Puerto Rico Military Retired Pay Taxes

Beginning with tax year 2025, Puerto Rico provides a full income-tax exemption for qualifying military pensions received by Veterans and retired members of the U.S. Armed Forces who are Puerto Rico residents. The 2025 Hacienda instructions implement this exemption through Schedule H (Anejo H); include federal Forms 1099-R and DD-214 as supporting evidence. This is no longer merely a law awaiting implementation.
