Free Tuition at South Dakota State Supported Schools for Dependents of Service Members Declared a Prisoner of War (POW) or Missing in Action (MIA)
Qualifying spouses and children of a service member officially declared POW or MIA may receive eight semesters or 12 quarters of tuition and mandatory-fee relief at South Dakota state-supported colleges or technical schools, excluding living expenses. The service member must meet the statutory South Dakota residence connection and the family relationship rules. Equal or greater federal benefits preclude this state benefit, but it may supplement lesser federal benefits.
An agency must make the actual eligibility decision.
The program is source-verified, but its eligibility rules are not automated in this record.
